About Us
About the Association
The Indian Medical Association, Andhra Pradesh State Branch unites the doctors of modern scientific medicine across the state in the service of the profession and the public.
Launched as a voluntary organisation in 1928 and registered under the Societies Act, 1860 (XXI), No. 325/1934, the Indian Medical Association is the largest professional association of doctors in the country and among its largest non-governmental organisations — representing over 3.5 lakh member doctors and a founder member of the World Medical Association (1948). It looks after the skill preparedness and welfare of the doctors of modern scientific medicine and the health of the common man at large. As its Andhra Pradesh State Branch, affiliated to the IMA Headquarters at New Delhi, we advance medical education, uphold professional ethics and serve public health throughout the state.
